The jist of the article is that recent college graduates should be less hesitant to take the plunge and follow their passions (under the right circumstances) and should give careful consideration to not just following the crowd to a job in the financial services sector or straight to graduate school. If the right path for you is to go to graduate school, then often that work experience, especially of an entrepreneurial bent, will help you in the eyes of admissions committees.
